Patricia Bianca Torres, MA, LMFT is an approved EMDRIA consultant specializing in Complex PTSD (CPTSD), preverbal trauma, insecure attachment, and dissociative disorders. She has published in the Journal of EMDR Practice and Research in her article, Reducing the Cost of Trauma: Indirect Trauma Exposure on Mental Health Providers (Torres et al., 2022). Her dissertation seeks to evaluate how the Early Trauma Approach to EMDR therapy is an effective treatment for CPTSD. As a proponent for parts work, she is level 1 trained in IFS and incorporates parts work and EMDR therapy in the intensive model. Integrating empirical evidence to support the theoretical underpinnings of CPTSD has assisted her in providing theory and empirically driven methods to inform effective clinical treatment and increase clients’ functional capacities. She enjoys providing EMDR resources in her EMDR therapy Cheat Sheet Booklet, and more information on her upcoming groups and events can be found on her website: www.emdrempowered.com.
